Vast Open Spaces Combined With Ease of Living

Further east on I-40 from Tijeras you’ll find the growing community of Edgewood. This up-and-coming area of the East Mountains is located right at the edge of wooded hills (this is where it gets its name), where the grassy eastern plains meet the forested Sandia Mountains to the west. Just thirty easy minutes from Albuquerque, Edgewood is home to many businesses you won’t find anywhere else in the East Mountains, such as Smith’s, McDonald’s, and in the near future, WalMart. It is a family-oriented town, with many young families moving into the area and into newly-built but affordable custom homes. For the kids, there is the Wildlife West Nature Park and a new skate park, as well as elementary schools and a middle school (within the Moriarty Municipal School System). If you’re looking for the small-town feel with big-city conveniences, Edgewood is the place for you!
